A Little Garden Painting

Today I got out of bed very early and decided to create a new painting in my little corner garden/sitting area. I used to draw and paint all the time until I started a family and bought a house. It's hard to find time to be an artist again. Gardening has taken my love of art for the past 5 years. Which isn't a bad thing, I've developed a serious green thumb and great gardening/landscape design skills.

I do have to give thanks to the Pomona ArtWalk of the last few months. One of the main reasons I actually decided to go, was to become inspired to paint/draw once again. It looks like it worked.

I have all the supplies an artist would want, but they just sit there in storage boxes somewhere in my garage. My garden attracts lots of birds, especially hummingbirds. I am also a fan of micro beers, and enjoy sitting in this part of the garden with a nice cold ale. I've always enjoyed the great label (and beer) that Humboldt Brewing's Red Nectar has. I even have a tin sign in my garage. I thought, this would work well on this wall. And here it is, the beginning of this masterpiece (LOL)...

I worked on it for a good part of the day, but the Lakers game is near and I need to finish up early to get food and watch the game. This is where I left off today:

I'll keep you all posted on where I'm at in the future. Judging by how much I got done today, I think this will be done pretty soon. I doubt I will find much time during the next 4 days (work), but I'll make some time this weekend.
